These clinical issues include: anxiety and panic disorders; grief, depression and other mood disorders; addictions; and trauma (acute and PTSD). Topics also addressed include: taking a history with a new client; using somatic based interventions; dealing with blocks and triggers; and new music programs for selected clinical issues. Case studies and client transcripts are woven into the course to facilitate greater understanding and skill levels which are necessary for in-depth work with clients. Specific attention is given to the importance of music as the co-therapist and includes: introducing ten advanced music programs to use with clinical issues; identifying how to assess and match music programs choice within clinical categories, and analyzing musical compositions for understanding their influence within the GIM session.
